The Comic Book Zodiac

I’d like to direct you to my latest undertaking. It’s called Deaver Park Press, and it is a screen printing and independent comics project I’ve started with Tiziana Severse. We’re putting the finishing touches on our first mini-comic, and we’re nearing completion on a very large proect, which I’d like to share with you.

It’s called The Comic Book Zodiac, and the basic premise is this: For each sign of the zodiac, we picked an iconic comic book character as a representative. I illustrated a poster design, and we’re hand screen printing a limited edition of all 12 poster designs.

We’ll be selling the posters and our mini-comic at two comics conventions this summer. First, we’ll be at Asheville, North Carolina’s Fanaticon on May 15, and then we’ll be at HeroesCon, in Charlotte, North Carolina, June 4-6.

Brewgrass Festival

The Brewgrass Festival is an annual event here in Asheville. It pairs great old-time music with more craft breweries than you can shake a stick at. Attendees are given small glasses, and encouraged to sample some of the best beers imaginable. It is truly a wonderful day.

I drew the illustration for the posters and t-shirts. This is the poster.

Rock & Roll Fashion Show

This is a poster I created for the Rock & Roll Fashion Show, a benefit for the 1 in 8 Motorcycle Series Against Breast Cancer.

The Back Room

The Back Room is a bar and music venue located in Flat Rock, North Carolina. The bar is owned by the Flat Rock Wine Shoppe (located next door), so the wine selection is fantastic. This is the front and the back of the t-shirts I designed for them. The design incorporates their yellow brick walls, the owner’s vintage Shure microphone, and their passion for live music, which happens every night they are open.

Hot August Night 5k

This is a t-shirt design for the Hot August Night 5k road race, which takes place in the Montford neighborhood of Asheville, North Carolina.

June 14

Personal work. This is a show flyer for my band, Albatross Party. 23 hand silk screened prints were made and distributed. Some day I will get around to taking a picture of one of the prints.

Giraffe Studio
